Each plate, bowl, and mug has a thin green stripe around the outer edge, a ring of holly berries and branches, and an embossed filigree pattern in white. The 16-piece set provides service for four, consisting of dinner plates, salad plates, soup/cereal bowls, and mugs. After all the recent media attention about dishes made in China, I decided to order these since they are an established reputable brand. What I got were dishes that are now made in China and do not seem to be the same quality as what they made in the past.
I'm going by appearance and place of origin, not experience from everyday use. I didn't want talk my wife out of anything she wanted, so I asked her opinion without mentioning mine. She wanted me to send them back and was relieved when I agreed.
None of this means that anything is terribly wrong with these dishes. At the price they are selling for, they might be exactly what you want. But if you are expecting the "original" price to reflect the quality, you might want to change your frame of reference.

I bought three sets of this dinnerware...I have been married 23 years and have always wanted nice Christmas dishes. I still have the same daily stoneware (also Pfaltsgraff) that I bought in the late 80's and love it.
These Christmas dishes will serve me well for many years...I am so glad to have them.
All of the pieces arrived in perfect condition...I couldn't be happier!

We purchased this item for my mother-in-law to add to her existing collection. Arrived quickly and all in tact. I was sure to check each piece due to other reviews stating a lot of breakage in shipping and was relived to see that everything was just perfect. My mother-in-law will be so happy! I was really suprised how quickly I received my dishes and I used the free shipping. No broken dishes either which was another suprise because they really did skimp on the padding. They used brown paper instead of bubble wrap or the packing peanuts. I think I will buy more of the set because I really like this pattern. It is simple and elegant.
