Great price for a great quality product September 2, 2010 vi449 This is a great product for a great price. The cutlery is thick and of high quality.
Cheap in both senses of the word August 26, 2010 jaedworks I got these to replace an old set most of whose forks had gone to play with the missing socks in Missing Household Items Heaven, and I have to say I regret not having waited and spent more on a better set. My old set was not "premium" or very expensive when I bought it, but this one compares unfavorably in weight and sturdiness. It's basically cheap stamped ware made from inferior steel, about one tick above "college dining hall" grade.
On the other hand, the pieces are generously sized, the pattern is attractive and blends well with anything, and you can't beat the price for an eight-place-setting set. This set does offer good value for the money.
(One note: the steak knives don't match the pattern; they just have cheap black plastic handles, the same sort of steak knives you can pick up in the grocery store for a dollar. They're perfectly usable, but don't think you're getting a six-piece place setting, or that they'll look nicer on your table than generic steak knives.)
Pretty Good Value August 24, 2010 Denise (Michigan) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
With 53 pieces at a price that approaches plastic picnic-ware, this set offers pretty good value. As other reviewers have pointed out, the pieces are nice and shiny, and have a pleasant modern look.
There are a couple of things to note, however. First, these seem to be very inexpensive stampings from relatively thin metallic sheets. This means that if there is a raised detail on one side of a fork, there is a corresponding recessed detail on the other side. The result is a lightweight feel and a tendency to flex a bit if too much pressure is applied.
There was a second surprise that I found while unpacking. The set comes with a long list of instructions. Basically, they state that you must not allow the flatware to dwell in a wet environment. The rules don't say what will happen if you don't follow the recommendations, but I suspect that corrosion may be one of the results.
Anyway, I throw my set in the dishwasher regularly and have had no problems yet. I'm happy with my purchase, but I have modest expectations regarding its longevity.
Flatware August 24, 2010 Rose Volpe (Blue Bell, PA United States) I bought this set to go with a set I had purchased about 3 years ago.
It has simple lines, looks modern, isn't too heavy, is advertised as 18/10 so I've been putting it in the dishwash and it has retained it's shine. I don't think it's as expensive looking as some others that are much heavier with more detail but it's perfect for everyday use and it's nice enough to use for company when you don't want to get out the real silver.
excellent for price August 17, 2010 A. Adedeji (San Antonio, TX United States) the flatware is simple, no frills, functional and still looks new after several weeks of normal use. the serving spoon and fork are an added bonus (haven't used them yet though). The table spoon is quite big, so we usually use the teaspoons, which are the regular size. I am considering buying another set.
